Bagni di Tivoli (lately also called Tivoli Terme) is a small town grown along the old consular road Tiburtina Valeria, 23 km away from downtown Rome . It has been famous since ancient times for the largest thermal pools in Europe , Acque Albule, and the quarries of travertine, a precious hard stone used for Roman buildings, including the Coliseum. Nearby, there are the ruins of Villa Adriana, the gigantic mansion of the emperor Adrian, and the renaissance Villa D'Este with its magnificent playing fountains. less then 60%. Showers are possible but not frequent.
HOW TO REACH THE CONFERENCE VENUE
The two maps below show the region around Rome and around the conference site, which can be reached by personal and public transportation in several ways. Information are available at the Hotel website and summarized below.
From Fiumicino / Leonardo Da Vinci Airports
• Train to Rome Tiburtina or Rome Termini railway stations.
From both railway stations (Tiburtina or Termini) take the underground "B" to Ponte Mammolo Station, then the bus to " Tivoli via Tiburtina" (the bus leaves every 10/15 minutes).
• From Tiburtina station, a train to Tivoli Terme station, is available every hour.The railway station in located at about 1/2 km from the hotel.
From Termini railway station
• Take underground "B" till Ponte Mammolo station and then line bus for " Tivoli via Tiburtina" (the bus leaves each 10/15 minutes).
The line bus stops just in front of the conference hotel.
From motorways
• On motorway Florence/Naples, lead to A24 exit Roma Est for motorway L'Aquila/Pescara and immediately lead to exit Tivoli . Go straight on and then, take the direction Rome on left side. The conference hotel is at 4 kms on the right side of this road (Via Tiburtina).
From G.R.A. (Ring Road)
• Exit n. 13 via Tiburtina direction Tivoli. The conference hotel is at about 10 km on the left side.
Alteratively
• Follow the indications for the highway Roma/L'Aquila. Exit at Settecamini Car Centro Agroalimentare and follow the indications to Tivoli - Via Tiburtina. Driving on via Tiburtina in the direction to Tivoli the Grand Hotel Duca d'Este is at about 5 km on your left.
We suggest, in particular to attendees and accompanying arriving at Fiumicino or Ciampino airports, to consider the taxi service. Cost for a single ride of taxi is about 80 and 70 Euro from Fiumicino and Ciampino airports, respectively. We recommend hiring the taxi at the assigned stands inside the airport arrivals. However, if a significant number of requests will be collected, the conference organization will make available at the airports a support during Monday, September the 8 th to help arriving delegates in their transport arrangement to the Hotel.
